The Good Cashmere Standard® (GCS) is an independent certification standard for sustainably produced cashmere, developed by the Aid by Trade Foundation (AbTF). Its goal is to ensure, in the long term, the welfare of cashmere goats, the living and working conditions of goat herders, and the protection of nature.

The cashmere used in all Ladneri Pieces is produced exclusively by GCS-certified suppliers.

1 from 4

Cashmere is one of the most valuable fibers in the world—harvested from the fine undercoat of the cashmere goat, which takes its name from the Kashmir region in the Himalayas. What makes it special: exceptional softness, natural warmth, and next-to-nothing weight.

But genuine luxury cashmere comes at a price—and that price is rarely made transparent. Rising demand coupled with falling prices has put many goat farmers under pressure: more animals, poorer conditions, and lower-quality fibers. The Good Cashmere Standard® is where this comes in: It certifies businesses that animal-friendly care, fair working conditions and sustainable land use Verifiably comply with—monitored by independent auditors.
